Hiam Demeulenaere

Hiam Demeulenaere was born in Lebanon. She moved to France with her family after completing her studies in economics. However, she was soon called to leave everything behind and move to Africa.

The influence of the geometric shapes of African art, the elongated silhouettes of Dogon statues, blended with that of the undisputed masters of modern art, Picasso and Giacometti, to fuel her creativity and shape her contemporary works.

Her artistic approach is imbued with both an aesthetic and spiritual search. It focuses on magnifying the elegant and natural curves of the female silhouette, intertwining them with planes of sharp, defined angles. Thus, the Line alone takes center stage, creating a thousand nuances of shadows and light.

The works of Hiam Demeulenaere are featured in several galleries in France and internationally (Dubai, Lebanon, Ivory Coast).
